Elementum, established in 2007 and headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg, is a grouping of businesses offering design, manufacture and distribution of products and services in the electrical reticulation services and security automation electronics fields. Further investments across a range of contracting, energy services and infrastructure product groups and services are being considered.
Metier has capitalised and resourced Elementum for making control and substantial minority investments in the group. The transactions include deferred terms, performance warranties and call options, giving us the opportunity to reduce the up-front cash investment cost, but with the ability to effect consolidation. Opportunities in other engineering specialities including energy efficiency are being actively pursued.
Further acquisitions are expected to leverage economies of scale and to position the group as an attractive investment opportunity. Revitalised management teams in the group's core divisions have set a strong agenda with organic and acquisitive growth ambitions.
