The Kurisani Youth Development Trust is a broad-based empowerment vehicle formed to sponsor youth and women's development and which helps millions of young South Africans to develop their self-esteem, leadership abilities and awareness of their right to health.

Metier assisted the Trust in its formation and supports its investment programme. This long-term corporate social responsibility commitment by Metier is designed to raise, develop and manage capital capable of making these critical community services sustainable.

Kurisani has the reach, infrastructure, support and strategy to transform the lives of the poor, rural youth and women. Metier negotiated Kurisani's participation in Paarl Web with Naspers, in the Murray & Roberts broadbased empowerment scheme, and as a broad-based partner alongside Kagiso Trust in the Adcock Ingram empowerment structure, and in several renewable energy bids where it has fulfilled the role of BBBEE investor and/or local community partner.
